Fish tags are designed to help players learn more about the fish they catch and track their progress in discovering unique characteristics.
🐟 What are fish tags?
Every fish in Let’s Fish has at least one tag, which highlights a specific attribute of the species – such as how to catch it, its biological family, or whether it’s tied to a current event.
📂 Types of tags
Fish tags are grouped into three main categories:
- Type of fishing
Indicates how the fish can be caught (e.g., float, spin, or sea rod). - Species / FamilyIdentifies the fish’s subspecies (e.g., catfish, trout, etc.).
- EventsHighlights whether the fish is related to a seasonal or themed event (e.g., Halloween Event).
🔓 How to unlock tags
- Tags are revealed by catching fish.
- Each time you catch a fish, there’s a chance to discover a new tag.
- The chance increases with every repeated catch of the same fish.
- Newly unlocked tags are marked as “New” in the catch summary.
🔍 How to discover tags
- Tags can be discovered through:
- Regular fishing
- Automatic fishing
- Tags are not revealed when catching fish using fishing nets.
📖 Where to view uncovered tags
- Fish information window – shows all tags discovered for that individual fish.
- Tag Lexicon (in player profile) – a master list of all your discovered tags, grouped by category:
- You’ll see only fish with discovered tags in each category.
- Fish with undiscovered tags are marked as uncovered, helping you track what’s still missing.
- All fish tags are listed at the top of the Lexicon, where you can filter by category.
- After Automatic fishing, any newly revealed tags will be shown in the summary window.
