Sometimes, your target fish just won’t bite or keeps getting away. Don’t worry — here’s a quick checklist to help you figure out why:

Your rod type is allowed at the fishery
➤ Some fisheries only allow float, spin, or sea rods.
Your hook is strong enough
➤ Weak hooks can't catch or hold larger fish.
Your rod is strong enough
➤ If it’s too weak, the fish may escape during reeling.
Your line matches the fish’s strength
➤ The wrong type or strength of line will break easily under pressure.
You’re using the correct bait
➤ Some fish require specific bait types to even start biting.
